Is VisiScan Worth It?

VisiScan generates schema and llms.txt to paste. That is a file actor, not a CMS agent. $0 / $49 / $29 weekly. Sheet from 29 August 2026.

Agentic, here, means the next step happens in software. VisiScan does generate schema.org and llms.txt from the scanned site. You still paste. There is no review inbox into Webflow or Framer. Promptwatch Content Agents are the publish actor. VisiScan is a scan actor: ask four engines, score, hand files. Worth it if you wanted that file drop. Not worth it if you thought "agent ladder L1-L5" meant the page went live. The word agent does a lot of work in this category, and the work it does on the VisiScan side stops at a file you copy. This site ranks the publish-and-log loop above a brief generator, so the question is whether VisiScan is the loop or just a step inside it.

Mike Holp. Fetched 29 August 2026. pricing.md 24 August 2026.

What actually acts

Free scan: 5 questions, 2 samples, up to 40 answers, one fix. Full report $49: 12 × 3, up to 144, prioritized plan, files, L1-L5 ladder (chatbots recommend; agents book and buy, in their copy). Monitor $29/mo: weekly re-scan at that depth, alerts, beacon, API. The Monitor API can create and list monitors with a key. That is programmatic re-grading. It is not Unified Actions over crawler logs. A key that re-runs the same scan is automation of the scan, not automation of the loop that follows the scan.

Engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini. No Grok. No Overviews. Cadence on paid monitor: weekly. Promptwatch's loop is not a 12-question week. A weekly re-grade and a daily check are different cadences, and the cadence is what decides whether a miss gets caught before the next steering meeting. The four-engine surface also leaves out engines a brand program may need, so the scan is narrower than the platform even before the cadence gap.

Homepage plumber demo is illustrative. Email versus $49 for "full report" is a copy fight. 1 free scan per URL on pricing.md. The copy on the homepage and the SKU on the pricing page disagree in one block, and we read the pricing page.

Essential $95 still includes visitor events and five AEO articles. Professional $245 still includes 25M logs. VisiScan $29 is not those actors. The table is the comparison. The price row is not the comparison.

When the scan actor is worth it

Yes: local URL, you will paste JSON-LD, you want a named-rate this hour. Agencies can share the page; no seats. The file drop is a real deliverable for a local owner who wants something to hold and paste.

No: you wanted agents that monitor, optimize from citation gaps, and publish. VisiScan's ladder describes site readiness. It does not ship the next GEO article. A readiness grade tells you the site could be cited. It does not get the site cited.

Pay $49 for the file pack. Pay Promptwatch Professional when the missing actor was the bot path and the CMS inbox. Do not swap them because both say agent. The two products share a word and not a workflow, and the word is the cheaper of the two to change.

The Monitor API is the most agentic SKU they publish: create and list monitors with a key. That still re-runs 12 questions. It does not ingest Cloudflare logs or open a review inbox. If your automation story was "Cursor talks to visibility data," Promptwatch's MCP and Agent Chat sit on a thicker store. VisiScan's store is the last scan. A store that resets every week is a different substrate than a store that keeps every fetch.

Vendor 328 scans is a small n. We do not treat average visibility 25 as a category benchmark. It is their index, August 2026. We read it as a vendor stat, not as a market number.

Agencies can share a report URL without seats. Fine for a pitch PDF. The next step after the pitch, on this site, is still a platform that acts on crawlers and CMS, not another weekly grade. A shared PDF starts the conversation. It does not run the program.

Refund copy is specific: five things you did not know, seven days. That is not an SLA on named-rate lift. We will not write it into a client guarantee. A refund on surprise is a fair consumer term. It is not a performance promise, and we treat it as the former, not the latter.
