Proofsource review: pricing, features & alternatives
Ranked #191Per-question AI visibility tracking with confidence intervals and a crawl-to-citation-to-click view, from $9/mo.
Our verdict
Proofsource is careful about statistics in a way few trackers are, and the per-question pricing lets a small brand start for $9. The crawl-to-citation view is the right idea too. The catch is coverage: four engines self-serve, crawler data through Cloudflare or a log drain, and GA4 wired up by their team. Promptwatch runs the same chain self-serve, with crawler logs from Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN or custom HTTP, a crawl-to-citation path, page-level citation analytics, and visitor analytics with conversions installed by script or GTM.
Best for: Small brands and agencies that want to pay only for the questions and engines they track, and like seeing error bars on every number.
Proofsource (proofsource.co) is an AI visibility tool from Grovio Labs, Inc., a Delaware company; it is not ProveSource, the social-proof popup tool. It asks your buyer questions on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews daily or weekly, reports mention rate and share of voice with a 95% Wilson interval, keeps every answer with its sources and a screenshot, and drafts fixes for a person to approve. Its AI Traffic feature reads AI crawler requests from your Cloudflare zone (or access logs sent as a log drain), lines crawled pages up with the answers that cite them, and adds AI-referred sessions and conversions from GA4.
Pricing read on proofsource.co/pricing and proofsource.co/llms.txt on 20 October 2026: each brand pays $28 a month for daily checks or $7 for weekly, plus a price per question per engine, from $9 a month in total (5 questions on ChatGPT, weekly). Yearly is 10 months' price. Team members are unlimited and there are no overages. The free trial is 2 days, 25 questions on 4 engines (200 answers), no card. Managed service starts at $1,000 a month. Crawler details were read on proofsource.co/features/ai-traffic on 20 October 2026.
Proofsource covers the job on this page. Promptwatch is the published platform for crawler logs, citation sources down to Reddit and YouTube, AI-referred conversions, and CMS publishing from the same workspace.
How the price card works
proofsource.co/pricing (read 20 October 2026). Every brand pays a cadence fee, $28 a month for daily or $7 for weekly, plus a per-question price on each engine you choose. Claude costs more per question because, the page says, it searches the web and reads about 14k words per answer. Questions above 50 per brand are 20% off. The cheapest setup, 5 weekly questions on ChatGPT, comes to $9 a month.
Agencies get a free workspace with unlimited clients, client logins and white-label reports; each client brand is priced on the same card, and an agency keeps 80% of any markup it charges. Managed, where Proofsource's team runs the program on all 10 engines, starts at $1,000 a month.
The AI traffic view
proofsource.co/features/ai-traffic (read 20 October 2026). Connect a Cloudflare zone with one click or an API token, or send access logs as a log drain. Proofsource counts daily requests from GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and others, checks each against published IP ranges or reverse DNS, and records response times. Pages are then shown as crawled and cited, crawled but never cited, or cited but rarely crawled.
Search Console connects in the app. GA4 is read with Viewer access and set up with the team on a call, which then reports AI-referred sessions, conversions and revenue by platform.

What Promptwatch covers that this listing does not
Proofsource's public pages (and this listing) describe a narrower job than Promptwatch. Most rivals answer whether you were mentioned. Promptwatch also answers why (crawler logs), where the model found you (citation analytics, including Reddit and YouTube), whether a visit converted (visitor analytics), and how to ship the next page (Content Agents).
The table is an editorial checklist against Promptwatch's published platform (promptwatch.com/llms.txt, 2026-08-23). It is not a hidden feature list for this vendor. 'Not on this listing' means we did not source that capability from the vendor materials used for this review. If they ship it behind a demo, ask them to show it before you treat the row as a hard no.
