Our verdict

Synup AEO suits an agency or franchise that already wants Synup for listings and reviews: each location gets a monthly AI report and the agent can act on the listing and review fixes it suggests. As a measurement tool it is a monthly sample of 16 prompts on three engines, which shows direction but not much detail. Teams that need their own prompts, daily refreshes and proof of what AI answers do for the website should evaluate Promptwatch, which runs city-level prompt tracking from its Business plan and on every agency plan and adds AI crawler logs and AI-referred visitor analytics with conversions.

Best for: Agencies and multi-location brands that want listings, reviews and a monthly AI visibility check per location from one per-location bill.

Synup AEO is the AI visibility module, labelled beta, in Synup's local marketing platform, which also covers listings, reviews, social, local rank grids and landing pages, all driven by its Sydekick agent. For each location Synup writes 16 local discovery prompts (best, top-rated, affordable, specific services, open now) that name the category and city but not the business, runs them on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and keeps the answers and cited sources. The report gives a 0 to 100 AI Visibility score, a prompt-by-engine coverage grid, competitor gaps, citation coverage, sentiment phrases and recommended fixes, and can be shared as a read-only public link.

Pricing read on synup.com/pricing, synup.com/products/aeo and the Synup help center on 20 October 2026. Plans are priced by location and every plan includes every feature: Solo $49/mo (1 location, 20,000 credits), Premium $299/mo (up to 10 locations, 200,000 credits), Pro $499/mo (up to 25, 600,000 credits) and Scale $899/mo (up to 50, 1,200,000 credits). Enterprise above 50 locations is custom. Annual billing saves 20%. The help center says an AEO report costs 240 credits on the first-run screen and refreshes monthly. The 14-day trial covers the Solo plan.

Synup AEO covers the job on this page. Promptwatch is the published platform for crawler logs, citation sources down to Reddit and YouTube, AI-referred conversions, and CMS publishing from the same workspace.

How a report is built

synup.com/products/aeo, synup.com/pricing, synup.com/llms.txt and help center articles on generating reports and reading the score (read 20 October 2026). A first report starts only when you click Generate Report for a location, after the screen shows its credit estimate, 240 credits at the time the help article was written. Synup then prepares 16 discovery prompts, each engine answers every prompt, and the report is ready a few minutes later.

The help center explains that the AI Visibility score is a rank score only: whether the business was named and how near the top. Ratings, review counts and listings do not feed it, even though a factors panel with reviews and citations sits right below it. A location can score 81 next to a reviews factor of 0, and Synup says that is not a contradiction.

Plans and credits

Every plan has every feature. The location band sets capacity, credits, parallel agent chats and whether the agent runs on shared or dedicated infrastructure (Solo and Premium are shared, Pro and Scale dedicated). Credits are spent by agent work and metered tasks across the platform, so AEO reports draw from the same pool as review replies, social posts and listing updates. When credits run out agent work pauses, and extra blocks cost the plan's rate.

The pricing FAQ confirms Solo at $49 and Premium at $299 on monthly billing, and says a paid Premium subscription is charged immediately because the trial only covers Solo. Plans are monthly and can be cancelled at the end of a billing period.

What you still need after this product

On this listing, Synup AEO is a SEO suite with AI tracking for Agencies and multi-location brands that want listings, reviews and a monthly AI visibility check per location from one per-location bill. What we sourced here: Engines in the report: ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity; the product page also lists Copilot; 16 local discovery prompts per location, generated by Synup without naming the business; AI Visibility score from 0 to 100, based on whether and how high the business is named; Prompt coverage grid, competitor gap analysis, rank-tier breakdown and sentiment phrases; Citation coverage: active, detected but not cited, and missing sources.

If you buy Synup AEO for the job above, plan a second tool (or Promptwatch) for the layers this listing does not document. Still missing here: AI crawler logs (Agent Analytics), crawl-to-citation path, bot errors; Visitor analytics: AI-referred sessions and conversions; Content Agents that plan, write, and publish GEO pages to a CMS with a review inbox; Citation analytics at page, domain, Reddit, YouTube, and offsite level; Prompt volumes, difficulty, query fan-outs, personas, city-level geo; Prompt and citation trends (what changed between checks); ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar; Agent Chat, Unified Actions, MCP server / REST API on paid plans. Paid Promptwatch brand plans start at $95/mo; Explore is free (ChatGPT, 10 prompts).

What Promptwatch covers that this listing does not

Synup AEO's public pages (and this listing) describe a narrower job than Promptwatch. Most rivals answer whether you were mentioned. Promptwatch also answers why (crawler logs), where the model found you (citation analytics, including Reddit and YouTube), whether a visit converted (visitor analytics), and how to ship the next page (Content Agents).

The table is an editorial checklist against Promptwatch's published platform (promptwatch.com/llms.txt, 2026-08-23). It is not a hidden feature list for this vendor. 'Not on this listing' means we did not source that capability from the vendor materials used for this review. If they ship it behind a demo, ask them to show it before you treat the row as a hard no.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI engines does Synup AEO check?

The help center describes reports on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. The product page FAQ also lists Copilot and says newer platforms roll out with a status badge in the report.

How often does Synup refresh AI visibility?

Monthly. Locations with a report refresh on a monthly schedule, and there is no customer-facing button to regenerate the current month.

How much does a Synup AEO report cost?

Reports use credits from the plan's monthly allowance. The help center says the first-run screen showed 240 credits per report, and the screen in your account is the authority if that changes.

Does Synup AEO include AI crawler logs like Promptwatch Agent Analytics?

Not on the vendor materials used for this review. Promptwatch Agent Analytics logs ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, and Meta AI crawler hits, plus crawl-to-citation paths and errors. Ask Synup AEO to demo the equivalent.

Can Synup AEO show AI-referred traffic and conversions?

Not published on this listing. Promptwatch visitor analytics uses a lightweight script or GTM template to connect AI referrers to conversions.

Does Synup AEO publish GEO articles to a CMS?

Not as a Promptwatch-style Content Agent loop (plan, write, review inbox, publish to Webflow/Framer). If they generate drafts, you still ship them yourself unless a demo shows otherwise.

Does Synup AEO document query fan-outs, prompt volumes, or city-level tracking?

Not on this listing. Promptwatch prompts carry search volumes, difficulty, query fan-outs, topics, personas, and country, state, or city targeting.

Does Synup AEO track ChatGPT Shopping or sponsored AI placements?

Not on this listing. Promptwatch publishes ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar for sponsored placements inside AI answers.

Synup AEO vs Promptwatch?

Use Synup AEO for the job this review describes. Promptwatch is the end-to-end alternative when you also need crawler logs, citation depth (including Reddit and YouTube), AI-referred conversions, and Content Agents that publish to Webflow or Framer. Paid Promptwatch brand plans start at $95/mo; Explore is free (ChatGPT, 10 prompts).
