ChatRank vs OmniSEO in 2026: Which AI Visibility Tracker Actually Acts on What It Finds?

ChatRank hands you weekly recommendations and an editor from $499/mo. OmniSEO tracks up to 10 engines from $89/mo. Neither publishes or verifies on its own.

ChatRank and OmniSEO are both AI visibility trackers, but they make opposite bets. ChatRank tracks less and tells you more about what to do next. OmniSEO tracks more engines for less money and leaves the doing to you. On a site that ranks tools by whether they act, that difference decides most of this comparison.

The case for ChatRank

ChatRank was started by Jon Mest and Joe Delgado after Google AI Overviews cut the search traffic of their PR software company. The product reflects that. Its agent, ReLU, works out which blog posts to publish, which Reddit threads to join and which review sites to improve, then asks you questions so it can draft the rest. The pitch is one hour of input a week from a lean team.

The writing side is the most complete of the two. The content editor has brand voice, style guides, AI detection, rewrite tools and version history. ChatRank also runs a site audit and generates and hosts an llms.txt file. Shopify and WordPress plugins come from Pro. Every plan has unlimited users.

The price is the problem. $499 a month buys 20 topics on ChatGPT and Google with weekly data and up to five recommendations a week, and competitor tracking only starts on the $999 Pro plan. The pricing page also contradicts itself on API access: the Power card mentions it, the comparison table says Enterprise only. Annual plans are billed upfront.

The case for OmniSEO

OmniSEO, from the agency group behind WebFX and SEO.com, is the better tracker per dollar. Essentials at $89 covers four engines and 50 saved prompts. Professional at $349 opens all ten engines, including Meta AI, Grok and DeepSeek, which few trackers at that price cover. Prompt research shows an estimated query volume for each prompt, and the citing-domain view shows which sources, including Reddit and YouTube, shape the answers.

Its weak spots are limits. Five competitors on both self-serve plans pinches in a crowded category. Essentials has no exports. The 7-day no-card trial only covers ChatGPT and AI Overviews, so you can't test the ten-engine plan before paying. On the act step, OmniSEO gives each tracked prompt recommendations (the page to update, the content to add, the sources to get on), and then acting on them is your job.

Where each one wins

ChatRank wins if you have no writer and want the tool to tell you, every week, what to write and to help write it. OmniSEO wins on coverage, price and prompt research, and for an agency that already has writers, ten engines at $349 is the more useful purchase.

Neither one closes the loop. ChatRank drafts, and while it offers Shopify and WordPress plugins from Pro, its pages don't describe them as a publishing workflow, so ask. OmniSEO advises. And neither lists AI crawler logs or visitor analytics, so after you publish, the only check either can run is to wait for the next prompt run and look for a mention.

Who should pick which

Pick ChatRank if you are a small in-house team, budget isn't tight, and you want weekly instructions more than data. Pick OmniSEO if you want broad engine coverage at a published price and can turn recommendations into pages yourself.

Verdict: consider Promptwatch first

If the reason you're comparing these two is that you want a tool that does something about your visibility, Promptwatch goes further than either. Content Agents plan, write and publish GEO content to Webflow or Framer, with a review inbox before anything goes live, based on content gap analysis. Agent Analytics then logs whether ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot fetched the page, and visitor analytics ties AI-referred visits to conversions. That is the verify step both trackers are missing.

On price it sits between them. Professional is $245 a month for 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, crawler logs and 15 AEO articles, which is less than ChatRank Plus. Essential at $95 suits a smaller start, though it has no listed crawler-log allowance. A free Explore plan covers 10 prompts on ChatGPT.

FAQ

Is ChatRank or OmniSEO cheaper?

OmniSEO. Its entry plan is $89 a month against ChatRank's $499, and its $349 Professional plan still costs less than ChatRank Plus.

Which tracks more AI engines?

OmniSEO, with ten on Professional. ChatRank's pricing page names ChatGPT and Google on Plus and "Perplexity and more" on higher tiers without a full list.

Does either tool publish content or track AI crawlers?

Neither lists AI crawler logs or AI-referred conversion tracking. OmniSEO doesn't mention CMS publishing, and ChatRank's plugins aren't described as one. Promptwatch publishes through Content Agents and tracks both crawlers and conversions.
