Promptwatch vs DispatchSEO vs Encited vs SEO MCP (2026)
Three MCP servers for SEO agents compared with Promptwatch, which gives Claude and ChatGPT live AI visibility data through MCP, REST API v2, and connectors.
If your team already works inside Claude Code, Cursor, or the Claude app, the dashboard starts to feel like a detour. You want the agent to pull the data, decide what to do, and do it, all in one conversation. That is why SEO tools have started shipping MCP servers, and why we keep getting asked to compare DispatchSEO, Encited, and SEO MCP.
All three let an agent drive SEO work over the Model Context Protocol. What they hand the agent is very different, though. An agent can only reason about data it can see. Give it Search Console and GA4 and it will optimize for Google clicks. If you want it to work on AI search, it needs to see what ChatGPT and Perplexity say about you, which pages they cite, and whether their crawlers reach your site. That is the gap Promptwatch fills, and it ships its own MCP server, so it belongs in this comparison.
We judge each tool on our usual loop. Monitor: what does the agent learn about AI visibility? Diagnose: can it find out why? Act: can it change the site or ship content? Verify: can it check that the change worked? Facts for DispatchSEO, Encited, and SEO MCP come only from their directory entries. Where an entry is silent, we say "not published."
Promptwatch
Promptwatch is an AI search visibility platform with several agent entry points: an MCP server, REST API v2, a Claude Connector, a ChatGPT plugin, and Slack. All three paid brand plans list MCP and API access. That means the assistant your team already uses can read live AI visibility data instead of guessing at it.
The data is what sets it apart from the other three. Prompt tracking covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, monitored through the real interfaces and refreshed daily on paid plans. Prompts carry search volumes, difficulty scores, and query fan-outs. Citation analytics breaks citations down by page, domain, Reddit, YouTube, and offsite mentions. Agent Analytics logs AI crawler hits from ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, and the Meta AI crawler, with a crawl-to-citation path and error tracking. Visitor analytics ties AI-referred sessions to conversions.
Inside the product, Agent Chat is a conversational analyst over the same live data, and Unified Actions turns findings into one to-do list. Content Agents plan from a content gap analysis and publish to Webflow, Framer, or WordPress (through an official plugin), with a review inbox before anything goes live. Framer publishing redeploys the whole Framer site.
Pricing: Explore is free (10 prompts, ChatGPT only). Essential is $95 a month with a 7-day trial but no crawler logs. Professional is $245 a month with 25 million crawler logs. Business is $579 a month.
DispatchSEO
DispatchSEO is an open-source SEO manager built for coding agents. Its MCP server exposes a queue, keywords, rankings, pages, Search Console stats, backlink prospects, trend topics, and a site profile. It works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, the regular Claude app, Gemini CLI, and Copilot. Per the vendor FAQ, ChatGPT cannot connect yet.
The workflow is content production with a paper trail. It writes one article a day, tracks Google rankings and AI Overviews daily, and ships everything as pull requests through GitHub Actions in your own repo. You pick approve mode or full-auto. Other listed features are hourly GSC sync, index status monitoring, domain rating tracking, backlink prospecting, and content quality checks.
Self-hosting is free under AGPL-3.0 and includes every feature. You will need Docker, a machine that stays awake, a free SerpApi key, and a DataForSEO account for volume data. The paid cloud plans are Starter at $20 a month annual ($29 monthly) for one site with a 7-day trial, Growth at $40 annual ($59 monthly) for three sites, and Scale at $69 annual ($99 monthly) for five. Past two sites, GitHub Actions costs land on your own GitHub account. AI Overview tracking is the only AI-search signal the listing documents. Crawler logs, citation analytics, and visitor conversions are not published.
Encited
Encited has the broadest surface of the three. Its hosted MCP server works with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Lovable, and since it is hosted, you have nothing to run locally. Workflows cover Search Console mining, AI visibility with fan-out query clustering, technical SEO audits, local SEO, content and keyword research, and competitor research.
The infrastructure side is what makes it unusual. Encited pre-renders JavaScript sites for crawlers through an edge proxy and includes crawl log analysis from the Essential plan. The site auditor covers up to 30,000 pages per audit and auto-fixes meta tags and link previews. Index Rush, redirects, brandable PDF reports, and a Data API round it out.
The AI visibility allowance is small. Basic is $19 a month with three ChatGPT prompts. Essential is $39 a month annual ($49 monthly) with 15 prompts, crawl log analysis, and 50 Content Agent credits. Business is $134 annual ($149 monthly) with 50 prompts and fan-out query insights. Agency is $314 annual ($349 monthly) with 100 prompts. Enterprise is custom, extra prompts start at $70 a month, and there is a 14-day trial with no card. The listing describes crawl log analysis but does not publish a crawl-to-citation path or visitor conversion analytics.
SEO MCP
SEO MCP is a pure tool server for agents. It has 39 tools: three for site auditing, nine for Search Console, eleven for GA4, four for the Google Indexing API, four for IndexNow, one for Core Web Vitals, two for schema validation, and one for sitemaps. It works with Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP-compatible client, and setup takes one config line.
In practice an agent can audit a site, submit URLs for indexing, pull keyword trends, validate schema, and report on GA4 traffic in a single conversation. That covers Google well. AI search is outside its scope: the listing does not publish prompt tracking, citation analytics, AI crawler logs, or a publishing path for GEO articles.
The free tier gives you 50 calls a month and 36 of the 39 tools with one API key. Pro is $29 a month for 5,000 calls, all 39 tools, and five keys. Enterprise is custom with unlimited calls.

Who should pick which
Pick DispatchSEO if you want a coding agent writing and shipping Google-focused content every day, you are comfortable self-hosting or paying very little, and pull requests are how your team reviews work. Pick Encited if you run a JavaScript-heavy site that crawlers struggle to render, or if you want one hosted server covering audits, indexing, and a light layer of AI visibility. Pick SEO MCP if you just want your agent to read Search Console and GA4 and submit URLs, with a free tier to test.
If the goal is getting cited in AI answers, none of the three gives your agent enough to work with. A Google-only data feed leads an agent to optimize for Google. That is fine, but it is a different job. Promptwatch is the server to connect when you want the agent reasoning over AI prompts, citations, crawler hits, and AI-referred conversions. These tools also pair well. Running DispatchSEO or SEO MCP for Google work and Promptwatch for the AI side, both connected to the same assistant, is a sensible setup.
Our recommendation
Connect Promptwatch first. The others give an agent good hands but no view of AI search. Promptwatch's citation analytics tells it which sources the engines cite instead of you. Agent Analytics crawler logs show whether ChatGPTBot or ClaudeBot actually fetched the page it just changed. Content Agents publish the missing pages through a review inbox so a human signs off, and visitor analytics reports which AI-referred visits converted. Start on Professional at $245 a month to get the crawler logs along with MCP and API access, or test the free Explore tier first at Promptwatch.
