SEOmonitor Alternatives in 2026: For Agencies That Want AI Tracking to Lead Somewhere

SEOmonitor measures AI answers through your keyword list, weekly, on credits. Six alternatives compared on cadence, prompt control and whether they act.

SEOmonitor is a rank tracking and forecasting platform for agencies that added AI coverage in three layers. The base layer, on all accounts, checks Google AI Overviews daily and records whether your brand is mentioned, cited, and where the citation ranks. On Pro you can switch on AI Search tracking on ChatGPT, Gemini (AI Mode), Perplexity and Claude, updated weekly. A separate AI Visibility Index reads ChatGPT and AI Overviews across a whole market, though only the UK and Romania today, as a quarterly snapshot.

The design choice behind it is clever. Instead of a separate prompt list, SEOmonitor turns each tracked keyword into one natural question, asks it in a fresh session and weights the result by Google search volume. Your AI numbers stay comparable with organic data. The same choice is also why agencies start shopping around.

Where SEOmonitor gets tight

AI Search is billed on top of the base plan at €19 per 1,000 credits a month. A keyword costs 1 credit per model on ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity and 5 on Claude. The help center's own example puts 1,000 keywords on three models at €57 a month, and the same 1,000 on Claude alone at €95. The add-on switches on for a site's whole keyword list, so you can't track only the keywords that matter for AI.

You also can't track a prompt that isn't a keyword. Conversational questions with no Google search volume fall outside the model. LLM data refreshes weekly. And we could not verify Starter or Pro base prices, because the pricing page returned a browser check when we read it on 14 October 2026.

On our act-then-verify scale, SEOmonitor measures well and stops there. A Content Writer exists on the Writer-Only plan from €25 for five articles, but nothing on the listing connects a lost AI answer to a published fix.

1. Promptwatch

Promptwatch tracks prompts as prompts, with search volumes, difficulty scores, query fan-outs, personas and country, state or city targeting. That covers the conversational questions a keyword list misses. Prompt trends show what changed between checks.

It also acts and checks. Content Agents plan, write and publish GEO content to Webflow or Framer behind a review inbox, Agent Analytics logs AI crawler hits, and visitor analytics ties AI referrals to conversions. Agencies get self-serve plans with unlimited projects and prompts and 10 seats: Kick-off at $199 a month, Growth at $399 and Scale at $799. Looker Studio and Google Search Console connect, so client reporting carries over.

2. Search Atlas

Search Atlas is the pick if you want a suite that does SEO work itself. Its OTTO SEO agent sits next to rank tracking, audits and outreach, and LLM Visibility reports mentions, sentiment, share of voice and position. Growth at $199 a month tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode. Pro at $399 adds Copilot and Perplexity.

3. DemandSphere

DemandSphere fixes SEOmonitor's prompt problem without leaving the SERP world. One daily budget is shared between keywords and LLM prompts, where one prompt costs the same as ten keywords. Starter is $79 a month on annual billing for 1,000 keywords, 100 prompts or a blend, with unlimited users and domains. Its Chat Rewind feature replays past AI answers.

4. Keyword.com AI Visibility

Keyword.com AI Visibility is the cheap way to test prompt tracking. It starts at $9.80 a month for 20 credits, covers six engines in its docs, and lets you set the refresh schedule per prompt. An API and an MCP server come on every plan, with unlimited users and projects. It reports and does not act.

5. SE Ranking AI Tracker

SE Ranking AI Tracker suits agencies already on SE Ranking for white-label reports. The AI Search add-on is $89 a month for 200 checks across five engines, on top of the core suite.

6. Morningscore

Morningscore is the small-agency option. It checks ChatGPT prompts weekly, runs daily AI Overview tracking on every keyword, and turns findings into a to-do list it calls missions. It covers only Google and ChatGPT, by choice. Plans run from $69 to $299 a month.

How to choose

If you like SEOmonitor's keyword-first view and only need prompt flexibility, DemandSphere is the smallest change. If budget is the issue, Keyword.com or Morningscore cost little to try.

If clients are asking what you did about a lost answer, though, a better tracker won't help you. You need a tool that ships the fix and shows the result. Promptwatch publishes the content, then shows the crawler visit and the AI-referred conversions behind it, under one agency plan with unlimited projects. That makes it the first trial for an agency moving past reporting.
